ONELIFE Reduces multi-microbial contamination of all types of bacterial strains
EFFECTIVE AGAINST MULTIPLE PATHOGENS Heterogeneity of biofilm matrices requires a specific blend of enzymes for their degradation. OneLife is the only detergent to disintegrate biofilm matrices of 100% of tested strains. Other detergents attack 0 to 53% of strains.
In vitro biofilm removal assays showed that OneLife's enziQure® has the largest spectrum of activity against biofilms out of 11 cleaners. Results showed that enziQure® could be efficient as a corrective cleaner to eradicate recurrent microbial contamination from endoscopes.
enziQure® has largest spectrum of activity
ROUTINE CLEANING CONSISTENTLY LOWERS CONTAMINATION LEVELS
Prolonged comparative study with 400+ endoscopes conducted in a University hospital tested efficacy in routine cleaning of OneLife’s technology, compared to competitor's detergent.
EFFICACY ON CONTAMINATED SCOPES
Incidents occur despite the thorough decontamination protocols in place in hospitals. It is likely that the current standards of cleaning and disinfection have limitations when confronted with biofilms.

REMOVING BIOFILMS FROM ENDOSCOPES: THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CLEANING CHEMISTRY
WAFI SIALA, FRANÇOISE VAN BAMBEKE, THOMAS VANZIELEGHEM
While most current cleaning solutions display poor activity against biofilms, the enzymatic formulation of enziQure® allows significant (> 50 %) biofilm dispersion for 80% of tested strains. This effect remains strain-dependent.
Surveillance of endoscopes: comparison of different sampling techniques
Addition of a PULL THRUTM brush to endoscope sampling procedure increases yield of microbial surveillance culture, particularly in presence of biofilm. Consequently, acceptance rate of endoscopes was significantly lower if saline plus PULL THRUTM was used vs. saline only.
risKs of biofilms on flexible endoscopes (NL)
Biofilms can cause major contamination problems in flexible endoscopes. The cleaning process plays a crucial role in eliminating the biofilm matrix.

Endoscopes and microorganisms transmission (FR)
Numerous studies have demonstrated the persistence of bacteria after cleaning and disinfection of flexible endoscopes. A presence that sometimes leads to infections. A symposium was devoted to this problem on 14 September in Veenendaal (the Netherlands), the subject of duodenoscopes was central in this meeting.
nosocomial infections & you : do you wash your hands? (FR/NL) - Tempomedical
The main mission of hospital hygiene is the control of nosocomial infections. This task is an ongoing challenge as, over time, new and more invasive techniques of care are being developed, an increasingly vulnerable and aging population stay in hospitals and the use of antibiotics is increasing.
Bacterial biofilms in healthcare facilities, reservoirs of pathogens?
Biofilms are a highly resistant form of existence for bacterial populations. The presence of biofilms in healthcare facilities is considered by describing the various types of problems that they cause, such as persistent infections and contamination of medical devices. The design of flexible endoscopes makes them difficult to sterilize. Trends in the fight against biofilms are presented.
